Day 3 Session 5: Understanding Transportation Logistics

This session will cover documentation requirements beginning with the proforma invoice and including document compliance with letter of credit terms, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin. The role of the freight forwarder in advising exporters on multi-modal transportation issues, selection of carriers and ports, regulatory requirements of foreign customs, preparation of documents, insurance needs and collection of payments will be discussed. There will be a review of the Incoterms for shipping and how they define the risk and payment obligations of buyer and seller. |
