On March 10, the US Commercial Service and the International Trade Center will host a webinar on the US-Jordanian Free Trade Agreement targeted to companies in the medical industry. This webinar is a followup to a successful collaboration between the two offices in 2008 and 2009 to encourage trade between US and Jordanian small business.  The jewel in the program is the opportunity for US businesses find 3 qualified buyers in Jordan for $250.

Since our office has started blogging, one of our goals has been to connect with our clients and make the work that we do more transparent and real. Our office is jointly funded from SBA and the Dallas County Community College District. As the primary funder, SBA dictates each year the goals for each state, which are then funnelled down to each center by that state's regional office. Those goals are centered around capital infusion and export sales which we measure at the end of each year. Additonally, we're measured on clients counseled, clients counseled for 5 hours or more. For the quarter ended 12/31/09, here's how we did on the counseling goals.

On Tuesday, December 8th, the International SBDC hosted over 100 women business owners, entrepreneurs and DCCCD faculty and students at the Women's Museum in Fair Park for the 2nd Annual Global Women Business Leaders Forum.

This event was sponsored by the Governor's Office of Economic Development and Tourism and the Women's Museum and featured panelists from government, private practice, Fortune 100 corporations, and small business owners who shared their wisdom and stories on succeeding in international business and trade.
